The “Crown” resource that Lynas (LYC.AX) owns is one massive opportunity for Lynas shareholders. Whilst Lynas says its core business is currently that of rare earths, investors cannot overlook the massive in-ground value of niobium, titanium, yttrium, and phosphorus as well as 475,000t of additional rare earths that Lynas valued at over $50 billion dollars in June 2007. The slide above clearly shows Crown is also one of the best (and most established) Heavy Rare Earth Element (HREE) deposits in the world! These figures are from Lynas’ own Scoping Study and in 2008 Crown received JORC compliance.

To better understand Crown and its value I have created the table below that applies current prices to the metals and oxides in Lynas’ prior slides and studies. This breakdown is not exact, but it is a good approximation and shows the tremendous value of Crown that is not currently included in the NPV of any research reports for the Lynas Corporation stock.
